Voices of the Children
On September 12, 2005, eighteen of us were lucky enough to be selected by Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne to be honored and blessed by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. To be selected for this honor, we had to write a very special essay or be nominated by someone special to us. The main criterion for being selected was compassion—either we acted in a compassionate manner toward other people or were shown compassion ourselves.
These are our pages. You can find out more about us, read our essays, or what we’re really hoping is that you’ll be inspired to join us. We, the eighteen children of September 12, 2005, are only the beginning. Come and join us—we’d like to extend our hands to you in compassion—in hopes that someday you’ll extend your hands to someone else in compassion.
